Wash asparagus under cold water, pat dry, and trim the woody ends.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add asparagus, and sauté for 2–3 minutes.

Reduce heat, add garlic and butter, and stir until garlic softens and butter coats the asparagus.
