Wash and chop the figs. Measure out the sugar and lemon juice.

Combine figs and sugar in a pot on medium heat. Stir until the figs release juices and the sugar dissolves.

Reduce the heat. Let the mixture simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Transfer the hot jam to sterilized jars. Seal and cool completely before refrigerating.
